Photographs documenting parts of the five expeditions to India and Southeast Asia including Burma, Nepal, Thailand, and Sumatra, recording mammals, hunting scenes, local inhabitants, and the expedition members and their hosts. Photographs were taken by Vernay and probably also by George M. Dyott, the expedition photographer. Copy photographs by Julius Kirchner. Photographs are identified.

This trip was undertaken by Arthur S. Stannard and Col. J.B. Dodge in Jan.-Feb. 1921, and was thought to be the first time that it had been done in its entirety. There were five expeditions led by Arthur S. Vernay and John C. Faunthorpe to India and Southeast Asia to collect specimens for the Hall of South Asiatic Mammals. The first expedition was the Faunthorpe Indian Expedition, 1923 (later Faunthorpe-Vernay Expedition). The others had no official names and were generally referred to as Faunthorpe-Vernay Expeditions.
